i think we may have a problem.......

taralynn_hughes Dec 14, 2003 04:12 PM

Today I was feeding Jade water through a dropper and every time she opened her mouth, she made a noise. It was kinda of a clicking noise. She does bask all the time, but she does not gape, and she is eating a healthy variety of crickets, butterworms, silkies, occasional wax worm and sometimes blueberries. crix get dusted reguarly, temps and humidity are fine. She just finished a shed and had no problems. We think she is gravid, but can't be to certain. She was showing receptive colors about a month and a half ago. We didn't breed because we want her to get through one clutch before we make her have babies. And she is getting a belly.
I know clicking/popping noises are a major sign of uri, so I'm really nervous about this.
I need help!
Tara

Taralynn,

Darn, it sure sounds like it could be a URI... but the only sensible thing it to have her checked by your vet. We can't hear her as you can - so this leaves not much choice.

Hope she gets better,

No.... I have heard many baby veileds squeak at each other.

None of us can hear your cham - or see her, so we feel the prudent thing would be to take her to the vet. Sometimes with pictures, we can help with feet, toes, eyes and such - but not with URI's.

Take good care,
