Need help with shipping.

How do any of you ship your animals?
I'm going to ship one of my beardies to a new home (found out I had two males). Well I packaged him up yesterday, and dropped him off, and last night at about 7 I get a call from the UPS guy saying they can't put him on the plane. I was on the phone with UPS for over an hour! Atleast I know he's safe and is coming back to me today.
We've shipped turtles before, and sent them through UPS without a problem, but now I'm being told that I have to set up some special account. A daily pick up account (which we just don't need). FedEx is saying they don't ship animals AT ALL.

So who do you use...what do you write on the box...etc. I've always written "harmless reptile" or something to that effect.

Help?

This is so strange...UPS must vary from state to state....I have an account but no daily pick-up as I don't need it and I prefer to take my live shipments to the station at the end of the day so they don't have to be boxed up so long. Anyway, I mark mine live harmeless lizard on all sides.....spoke to a representative before opening an account too......but that was a couple of years ago....maybe it's for new rule for new accounts......I really don't see why they have to make things difficult but seems like nothing east any more.

I've never had any problems with UPS until this time.
The person I spoke with said I could set up a daily pickup account, but I'd have to pay weekly...and I only really need to ship about 6 times a year.
Anyway, I've found airborne express will ship turtles, but not lizards....so I'll be shipping my lizard under an *alias*

*grin*
