Melleri are another kettle of fish in terms of care. They are very large, almost always wc and in poor physical shape, and more demanding of time and attention to detail. There is a very active melleri forum on Yahoo Groups who is working on a detailed care sheet as I write. It's just about ready to release and will be a big help to those interested in this species. Go to Yahoo, search for Meller's Chameleon, and ask to view the DRAFT sheet that is under review. It will give you an eye opener and help you decide if you want to take this on.

I did a yahoo search, went to mellericham group site, but I couldn't access the sheet you're speaking of. I think you have to be a member of this group to view.
BTW, I don't have a Meller, I'm just curious as to their requirements.

Hmm, you may have to be a member to view the "Files" for the forum. Not sure. I don't know if I can link to it directly. Membership is free and open...no one has to approve you other than Yahoo(which I really like unlike stuffy ADCHAM). I want to support the melleri group so would prefer folks join, view the file themselves rather than release the sheet prematurely. It is chock full of good melleri info and worth reading if you are interested in this species. The forum itself is also great! You can also view the archives which will teach you a lot.

Go to chameleonnews.com and in the last years issues you will find an excellent article by Ken Kalish on the keeping of Ch. melleri, as well as another excellent article by Rob Trenor on the acclimating of WC melleri. I would suggest reading both of these and they will give you some kind of idea of what your up against. Not that I'm trying to dissuade you from getting melleri, they are beautiful chameleons and one of my favorite, but they are very time consuming and be prepared for a lot of work, and even then you may not be successfull.
