rubbermaid, iris, steralite..where?

IcedGoddess Dec 14, 2003 06:39 PM

Last spring when I was looking for tubs for my hatchlings I had found a great site that had the Iris tubs really cheap. But now I'm searching for a place I can get 10-12 adult size tubs and all I'm finding are 20$ a piece ones or the 40 $ vision tubs. I want clear, or near clear tubs, prefferably with pre-drilled holes, but that's not really as much of an issue as size and price.

Any reccomendations?

The big "everything" stores like Super Wal*Mart are usually a good bet. Last year when I was trying to figure out what to put some of my growing ratsnakes in, I found 50 gallon sterilite bins at Super Wal*Mart for ten bucks each! Wow! Use a soldering iron/gun or woodburner to melt holes in them. I used a drill on a few sterilite containers early on until I realized that just when you think things are going well, you wind up cracking the bins. My 50 gallons have melted holes. It goes so easy to melt them, just make sure that you do it in a well ventilated space.
Good luck. Duffy

good idea to melt the holes! I drilled them in my baby boxes but I SHOULD NEVER be allowed to handle power tools! LOL Just not quite adept with those types of things, I tend to injure myself several times with just a screwdriver But melting would be quiet and easy...I'll remember that...and I'll try to remember to do it outside

I get all my Rubbermaid boxes from Lowe's hardware store. I have also seen them at Staples but they are slightly more expensive there.
