i recently adopted a 4 foot male iguna and he is the biggest goof. i always read about how igs are ussually mean and dont like attetion from anything. but mine is the exact opposite he loves my attention. he follows me around my room. he climbs up on my bed goes onto my stomach and falls asleep! he is the best lizard i have ever owned. i feel asleep for a few min(not more than five) and i woke up to a four foot green iguna staring me in the face..lol

my newest one the little one i rescued from petco hates attentionn he is a little terror..lol. but i have only had him for a few days and he is settling in.

Hello. That is too cool. I can't wait 'till my Igs get big enough to free roam. I'm affraid they might get stepped on. Good luck with your other one. Thanks for your information to my post.

In James Hatfeild's book, the Ultimate Iguana Owners Guide, he has created a scale, where level 1 is a tame iguana, and level 50 is a wild green monster. We have a level "zero" iguana. She is so sweet, she reaches up with her hand, and pulls on my wife's shirt collar, while she nuzzles under her neck. She has never bit us, tail-whipped us, or intentionally scratched us. At 8.2 pounds, she will scratch us a little while she is on our arms, but that's because we don't trim her nails. She has been through two boughts of being gravid. Each time, she was still sweet, just restless. Here is a picture that shows how gentle she is.
