Does anyone use Zoomed cage carpet? im thinking about switching to that from papertowls. It seems safe right? Any thoughts or comments?

I've been using it for a while... very simple... nicer looking than PT's, when you really need to clean it.. wash it in the sink... rinse like crazy... wring it out.. put it back in the tank... I like it

I use the reptile carpet with my leo. I also, agree that it looks much better than paper towels. I use mealworms in a bowl with calcium, so therefore the carpet doesn't get dirty that often. Crickets coated with powder just keep hopping around making little powder spots all over the carpet. I usually clean it around once a week anyways. I take the carpet out and pop it in the dryer with no detergent, and let the hot water clean it. Then I put it in the dryer for a while until dry. Underneath the carpet I have paper towels to add more area between my under the tank heater (UTH) and my gecko so she doesn't get burned. Also, this helps when I take out the carpet, having the paper towels there already. The only complaint I have is that, after I put it in the washer/dryer and put it back in the cage, it seems as if it has shrunk a little. It only seems to shrink like a centimeter each time, so it's not that much. Or you could just buy enough repti-carpet to have two different pieces, and just use one while washing the other, and then switch.
