generally get 4 to 5 feet in length. I've heard they can stay in as little as a 29g when fully grown....my baby (he's about 14 inches) is in a 55g and will be there through adulthood.

OTOH, my younger brother has a milksnake that's about the same size and he seems perfectly content in a 15g for now.

One thing many people fail to take into account when dealing with kingsnakes-is that they are fossorial (adapted to burrowing;subterranean). Because of this, a king will actually be comfortable in a cage that (like sized) snakes would be crowded in. Kings actually spend a great deal of time feeling cozzy under their bottom medium. Another common mistake is to assume that they need to stretch out their body length. Not so. before I get jumped on I will again note that I am talking about fossorial snakes not about garters, Ratsnakes, or any other terrestrial snake that obviously would need more room.

I have a '00 cal king and I got an accurate measurement last night. He is currently 48" and is still growing, slowly now in adulthood, but he is still growing.

They can be housed comfortably at adulthood in a 20 gal long.

yes,4-5ft .by the way, aquariums are for fish.there are some reasonably priced reptile specific cages on the market that not only look alot nicer, but they can help solve husbandry problems you may not have noticed evan having.
