Txratag:
Are you in the Northeast by any chance?
John
No, I am in Texas.
Just wondering. I sold a bunch of orange phase lindies to a guy up here in New England this year and yours looked just like them. Well I guess that's to be expected, but I was just excited that it might be one of them. Oh well. Nice looking juvie, and I'll bet he's a good eater.
Regards
John
That is the nicest thing about owning a rat snake from hatchling size. The color change they go through!! Better be careful though you might get bit!! By the snake bug that is!! LOL Kind of like a Lay's potato chip, "cant eat just one". Well snakes are EXACTLY that way, cant have just one!!! Before long you will be looking at others to add to your collection. I up to 5 different rat snakes, and looking at adding a few more next spring/summer!!!
Good luck and have fun with it!!

Greetings fellow Texan. Thats a good looking snake. You don't see enough Texas rats on here. I've got two myself. I always enjoy seeing other peoples to compare. Enjoy

I like texas rats for primarily their pattern as adults. Also the possibility of being bitten. That little guy has bitten more times than i can count but I like a challenge. He is warming up to me a little bit. The whole poor disposition of these guys turns many people off to them but that can always be changed w/ a little TLC and some patience.
Yea I do have to admit the aggressiveness of the texas rat does make them entertaining. I have two. Mine are both wild caught. One has never bitten, while the other tags me often. One of my dogs learned the hard way just the other day. My wife and I have corns, ball pythons, Red tails and dumeril's. When my wife has one of the big ones out the dog likes to get up close and check them out. She does't get any where near the T/Rat any more.
