fogger setup

dragunzfyre Dec 15, 2003 09:26 AM

I've had a store bought fogger for about 2 months now and have a couple of complaints. It seems like everytime I have it running for about 30 minutes or so, my aquarium has "puddles" in the corners that form in the soil everytime. I don't know if the bowl I have it in isn't big enough or what, but does anyone have a solution?

Hello,

I've noticed some foggers will actually splah/spray upwards out of the water if the level is too shallow for them. That could be causing your puddles or if you're running it for 1/2 hour at a time it could simply be creating so much moisture that it's collecting on the walls and running down. Perhaps experiment with raising your water level or running the fogger for a shorter amount of time. If you run the fogger for a shorter amount of time you might make up for it by running multiple shorter cycles spaced out through the day to try to avoid the saturation effect.

You never said how deep or wide your bowl is. One of the ways to keep the water from splashing out of the bowl is to put something a few inches above the fogger. You can buy or make these fogger "umbrellas" or use something like a flat rock. I keep my fogger inside a waterfall which works great.
