please be careful if you use water bowls...

ginevive Jun 03, 2003 08:36 AM

This is unfortunate. I was checking on my collection last night and found that somehow one of my firebellies had gotten crushed under the water bowl. I always make sure they are not underneath it when i put it in after a refill by guiding them into the water, so she must have dug underneath and got stuck. Please make sure to put the bowl directly onto the tank floor, not on top a layer of substrate. I would not want this to happen to any one else.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. And I will be sure to keep an eye on mine. Thanks for the advice.

When I have the tank in a terrestial set-up, my FBT's were abhored. They wanted to get out...and they hadn't dig or anything. It looked like they wanted to climb out. Anyway...I'm sorry to hear about it. One thing that I don't like about pet is that I tend to get paranoid about the well being of the pets--if they are going to be alright if they act the way I haven't heard of before--and they die on you--whether it's old age or accident.
