Question for Jeff Clark...

bcijoe Dec 15, 2003 01:39 PM

Hi Jeff, I have what was said to be a hypermelanistic Argentine Raibow Boa - the person (not someone who sold it to me) described it as either a very dark, or Chocolate Avarezi, or a Crassus, and said that he had not seen one advertised in the US in over 10 years.
If you can please send me your email address, or I could provide mine - rollojoe@hotmail.com - i'd be happy to send pics and see what you think.
I would appreciate your opinion on this. He eventually will be sold. thanks, Joe

Joe,
. Please do email PICs to me. jclarksnakes@comcast.net I want to know more about this color phase. I had a chocolate phase Argentininian Rainbow for several years and did not know what it was. I got it with other imported ARBs. That should have been a serious clue. LOL. I recently talked to Dr. David Faubius from Uraguay about the snake and he identified it for me. He said he has seen chocolate phase ones born in litters of normal ARBs. I have no idea whether this is a heritable recessive trait or not. I think I have a PIC of mine on my website.
TIA,
Jeff

and he looks very similar to the dark phase on your web site.
I will be able to email you pics tonight. And it was actually Dr. Fabius who msg'd me and identified him as well...
Thanks again, Joe
