It's so refreshing to know that there are other dorks in this world that are as excited about the midnight release of Return of the King as I am. 
I fully intend to make it if at all possible. Do you already have tickets?

I plan on watching the first 2 then going.Then i have tickets again to see it wensday morning.I feel like a little kid on christmas eve.I wanna take my 7 year old son to the midnight show but my evil wife wont let me on a school nite.hehehehe.

I begged the BF to go with me if we can still get tickets and he keeps looking at me like I'm nuts. I should probably never admit this in public but...the trailers make me cry. I loved the books as a child and now to see it on film and not cheesy at all... It seems so real and sad and beautiful. God I am such a geek. I knew there was a reason I was drawn to this forum...elves and reptiles and I'm a happy girl.

Aw...thanks! Unfortunately, I am in (not so sunny) California. That's a long drive for a movie. Don't worry...I have ways of making him go. If I'm ever in IL I will bring the DVDs and make you keep that promise...then your 7 year old can meet my 7 year old. And believe me I am a geek...I have come to terms with it though! I get to play video games, watch the Sci-Fi channel and read comics so it's worth it.

My wife and I will definitely be there Sunday to check it out.
I watched The Two Towers extended version again over the weekend.
Been a fan since I first read the Hobbit in 7th grade.
Followed of course by The Lord of The Rings Trilogy.

though i think i'd be doing the same thing, but i'm flying back east on thursday, so i'm gonna wait and see it with family. i don't think i want to deal with the crowds anyway.
