Lumps and Bumps

Beardiedragon Dec 15, 2003 02:33 PM

I am trying to compile some information about the various causes of mystery lumps and bumps under the skin and is there significance to their location?

for example:
A lump or swollen leg could be MBD or gout
A lump under the chin could be MBD

I am looking for any additional info and if it was diagnosed as something specific, how that conclusion was reached and what was was the solution.

Any websites with more info would also be appreciated

Thanks

Bumps, Lumps or Swollen leg can be:

Cardiac or embolism (usually shows on the left side)
Infected scale draining into a gland (especially under the arm area)
Fungus that broke through to a gland or the blood stream and has gone septic
Broken bone
Injured tendon
Crystals forming in the joint that are causing inflamation, either uric(gout), oxalates(diet) or calcium (over supplementing)
Degenerative Osteoarthritis(hereditary mostly, but can be secondary to other disease)
Lack of Vitamins B
Tumors
Bite of another reptile
Injections for hydration

I am sure there are more, this is just some I have seen in years of working with reptiles
