Okay i suspect my water dragon is pregnant. She is 21 and 1/2 inches long now. She was living with my male about 1 month ago. Then she started getting stressed and i put the male in a separate cage. She seems to have a belly even before i feed her every other day and her last meal has been fully digested and defacated. I alos noticed today when i tried to pick her up and put her in her cage that when she ran as usual that she sort of kept her enitre belly off the ground about an inch, and sort of ran with her legs straight, she did this again after she stopped and i tried to pick her up again, finally i caught her and stuck her back in her cage.

Can any one tell me what they think of this? please. If shes pregnant i need to get prepared.
p.s. Shes been acting a bit skittish also.

Thanks a bunch is appreciated.

Hey.

My dragons started running the same way when they got around 20-25 inches. I dont think this indicates pregnancy because my male does it too. My female has been gravid twice now and I think she is getting ready to go again. She is about 23 or 24 inches. Her stomach does get plump, she eats alot for a couple of weeks, then she starts to eat less and less, then she does not eat for a couple of weeks, then she lays her eggs. She digs in the potted plant in the enclosure. It has been pretty consistant like this both times.

We put the Christmas tree up across from the enclosure. They bang on the glass to get out, we open it up and they jump down, look around for a minute, run a couple of feet, look around, run under the tree and then climb inside of it. We leave them in at night but put them back in the enclosure for light during the day. They LOVE the tree. It is so cute! I will post a pic sometime soon.

Happy Holidays!

PS I finally finished college!

Waterdragon can't get pregnant, they can, however, become gravid. If she is, she'll do some digging and you should be able to feel the eggs in her side. The way they run isn't effected as far as I have seen.

Gravid means to carry eggs

Pregnant means to carry developing offspring....

Inside the eggs are there not offspring developing???

But i guess technically gravid is the correct term so...two points for you.
