Time progression photoessay showing hypotangerine albino (hybino) development

StarGecko Dec 15, 2003 09:45 PM

My hypotang albino line develops slowly, over time, as does the carrot. I thought people might find it it interesting to see how these changes develop over time. This animal, Vivid (NFS!), is not done changing yet. It requires patience, but watching these animals develop is like a little christmas, every day!

Day of Hatching, June 6 2003. Hardly even looks orange at all, does he?

Less than a week later, June 11th 2003. See how much the color has changed, and note how orange the head is:

Aug 1, 2003 Here you can see the orange is just starting to peek through the pink bands

August 5, 2003

Aug 19, 1003 The orange coming through is starting to be more noticeable. Carrot is starting to develop on tail.

Aug 28, 2003 I finally figured out to take close up shots with my digicam!

Vivid is truly an amazing gecko! I drool every time I see him! LOL I am so glad to be working with his clutchmate and I cannot wait to see what I produce in '04. I can hardly wait!

I enjoyed seeing all the pics of how Vivid has changed since day 1 up until now. That was really cool! I'd love to see what he is going to look like when he meets his first year mark! keep us updated! :D

It's funny, but even through I know intellectually it kind of suprises me too, being reminded of how much he's changed, even just in the past couple of months. I've gotten so used to looking at him how he is now. It looks to me like he will go completely orange, but of course only time will tell for sure. I hope his clutchmate produces some awesome hypotangerine albinos for you!I am excited for next year.

Hi

Vivid is so beautiful. I also liked that comment you made, that watching them changing is like having a little bit of Christmas everyday.

Take Care, TLB
