Hey, im planning on making my light hood instead of buying one, as i dont think i can fit everything (CF's, fans, wiring, etc) on regular hoods. I just need any suggestions of the building material (wood) and if theres a site on instructions (i know theres a ton on reefing DYI projects), please post if you have any comments.

AHSUPPLY has ideas, if I get time I will take pics of mine I built it, sanded it, and painted in about 1-2 hours. Very easy stuff. I used all 1x4s and then made the width a little think so there was a gap on both sides to vent the heat. On my netx one I plan to make the sides also 3/4 of an inch long so it is already off the tank, without having to add anything to lift it.
