My first suggestion is to purchase cbb animals to start with! When you buy wc animals you must be willing to risk your money. It has been my experience that 70-80% of wc's (emeralds) don't make it past 2 years. It is an absolute must to have them vet checked as soon as you get them. If you get one that pukes, you can kiss your purchase money and vet expenses goodbye! Many folks, myself included have tried to work with pukers and have had little to no success.

I go into the purchase of wc's fully knowing the risks. I have purchased from Alfredo and lost the animal. Do I blame him NO, just like others I have purchased wc's from and lost the animal. It is my risk to take and again I know what I may be in for.

The worst thing is that someone who purchases a wc as a first emerald and looses it, then thinks that all emeralds are just like it! Which is absolutely not true!

Emerald Tree Boas are not only one of the most beautiful and unique snakes in the world, if a few general requirements are met, they are a great pleasure to keep. BUT, a wild caught emerald as your first emerald experience is a very risky move that IMHO is just not worth it, literally. Buy yourself a nice cute, captive born animal. CBB babies are at this time reasonable in price and not much more than a WC. There's some information on my website under "Husbandry Tips" that may help you decide further.
