Beardie just lays in his water

Bekka Dec 16, 2003 05:31 AM

My beardie always loved his water trough, but this is unusual for him (or her??) ??? The past two days, the beardie just lays in the water with snout to the corner of the cage.
What's up with this????

check cage temps, maybe to hot
has he pooped lately, soaking in water can help a Beardie poop.
Maybe he just likes it there

Yes, he is shedding ; ) I turned a light off thinking perhaps it could be the temps were too warm, but even at 80 degrees, he continued to lay in the water dish. This morning, I gave him a warm bath.... and since then he has crawled back up on his log.
He was grumpy about the bath though. Have to say, he hasn't been eating that wonderfully lately. He never does when he is shedding. Just kind of acts lazy and grumpy, and then springs to life when he's in his new skin again ; ) I also wondered about the need to use his water as a toilet...but he hasn't had a lot of solids lately. Just in case I am bathing him a few times a day, stroking his tummy... and generally watching him closely.
He seems a bit perkier tonight ; )
Thanks for responding.
