herper1990 Dec 16, 2003 10:25 AM

The info helped my veild's eye opened and he was doing great until yesterday. his eyes are buldging in and out. iT almost looks like the eyeball is loose and moving around in his head in gets real big the real squished up. It obviously bothers him becuase he rubs his eyes up against the branches when they start to buldge in and out. somebody please help. Im extremly worried!

I'm not sure on the information they gave you or what was wrong before but I know chameleons bulge their eyes out and move them around when they have something stuck in their eye. This is the way to remove the debris. I'm not sure what happened before so I don't know what to tell you

This is normal cham behavior. They clean their eyes by bulging and moving the orbit around under the lid. Keep doing what you are doing and spraying him with hot (warm when sprayed) water to help him clear his eyes by himself. If an eye was constantly bulged and swollen I would worry.

Did he just shed? becuase if he did he could have some skin stuck in his eye. My panther is shedding as we speak...He is sheding around his eyes and rubbing it constantly. If he has just shed then thats porbably it.

If you are really worried, take him to a vet. Now, with that being said, I have had similar problems with some of my older veileds. What I did was take a spray bottle of water & flush their eyes out. I have to hold them by the veil. This really pisses them off, but the outcome has been very effective. It won't hurt them unless you just POWERBLAST the water into their eyesockets.
