Opinion poll: PETA

suzywoolf Dec 16, 2003 01:21 PM

After seeing the link to petcocruelty.com posted, I'm curious how others on the forum feel about PETA. (I'm going to take a guess that there are probably some pretty strong feelings, so please keep it nice.)

Since I'm opening this can of worms... I'll just say that I am not PETA's number one fan.

They are Scary, Troubled, Brainwashed people. I feel badly for all those who have encountered them and for those whom they try to destroy. They are antogonists of the worst kind. Peta is more of a cult than an organization.

I agree. I really dont like PETA. I have always loved animals, I am all for animal rights and I like animals more than I do people sometimes, but those guys are just insane. One thing I heard that really got me mad was they went to a show for chinchilla furs, where they actually had live chinchillas there too. they poured red paint on the furs as well as ON THE ANIMALS themselves so they couldnt be made into coats....WHAT?? I dont understand where the "Ethnical Treatment" part comes in there.

Definitely have some extreme morals there. I'm not too for them at all.

PETA is an extremist organization that should not be aided in any way. A terrorist group that burned down the houses of many scientists who had been working with lab rats was linked to a faction of PETA and it appears that PETA had long supported the group through monetary aid. The former president of PETA stated, "Even if testing on rats leads to a cure for AIDs we'll be against it and If you ever happen to be up at around two-thirty in the morning they sometimes even broadcast a paid advertisement on cable in which a spokesperson blatantly uses a racial slur in reference to the japanese.
