hognose and brumatation

CrazyCorn Dec 16, 2003 04:35 PM

I went out and bought a hognose several months ago and have been doing alot of research on them and I have one question I just cant seem to answer I was hoping you all could help. Do westerns put themselves into brumatation often? As I bought a Western CBB '02 male and about a month ago he stopped eating when the heating failed in my house and it was about 65 for a day. None of my other animals have had this problem besides my corns which finally ate for me 2 weeks ago. Thanks for any and all help!

Dave.

It's VERY normal for westerns to put themselves into brumatation. Sometimes they'll just fast for no apparent reason.
