Opinions on new Higher colored Normals!

Oogey Dec 16, 2003 08:01 PM

Hi,
I'm going to be purchasing my first pair of bp's from Jason Hunter shortly after the holidays and I already got my eye on a female but I would like a couple tips on coloration/pattern to look for. This will be a breeding pair and I would like to produce a few nice clutches of babies before I would advance to any designer morphs. I don't think these females I'm talking about are "high" colored but they sure do look a lot brighter in color then other normals I've seen.
I am providing the link to all the females that are for sale right now on his website, N4 is the one I was looking at(n2,n5,n8 are gone) I will just be picking up a normal male as well.
Thanks guys!!

I would be cautious when I see normals with that high of a yellow contrast. The coloring might be doctored because most normals aren't that yellow. Normals aren't normally YELLOW just be cautious.

there are a bunch out there that look like that for half or even less than that price. If you are determined to buy from him, it is a gorgeous snake. Good luck breeding.

Thanks for the quick replies!
I asked him about the lighting in the photo and he said basically what you see is what you get. I do believe he has females for less then half that price but I am not too sure on what I want. He told me those guys were CH and ALL were feeding well and healthy. It's Canada, you can't find very many cheap snakes here lol ) Could you reccomend a breeder in Canada with nice colored bp's for cheaper? He's just a nice guy thats what drew me to those guys. )
Thanks again,
Kristy

go for it. I dont know how much its worth in American $ though.
If hes asking 200$ american, forget about it. you could buy a 100% Het Albino male for that.

It's all in Canadian funds. Do you guys really think she's worth it and will her color make a noticeable difference in her clutch when they do get to the breeding age? I could get a really cheap female (well eating, but just not as nice) but I did want a nicer looking one in my collection.
Ahh,, decisions lol

Thanks again guys,
Kristy

I would say that if you really like her that much, then it is worth it. Comparing all the pictures of normals on that page, they don't look "doctored" to me. She's very, very pretty. There are no guarantees that she'll throw above-average babies, but you will always have her beautiful colors to admire. That's sometimes worth a few more dollars, IMO.
