Hi guys-

I am probably gonna pull BamBam and Pebbles out of hibernation after Christmas cuz Pebbles is starting to look skinnier. I was wondering if I need to separate them while I try to fatten her back up or if they can be together. If I do separate them, do I need to spend money on another UVB light (the long one)? Thanks!!!!

Hey girl, hows it going? I would just put her in a seperate container, just WHILE she eats, then put her back in the tank.

Now, I say that thinking you are there watching, but if you can't be there, then, if shes really that thin, yeah, put her in another tank, until she beefs up if Bam Bam is eating all the food.
As far as the uvb, depends on how long you keep her seperated. If it were just briefly, my opinion is no you would not have to buy another light.

But if it is going to be an extended period of time, yes.
** Oh and somewhere down the line you may want to have a spare anyway, just incase you would ever have to seperate them, for a long period. Always good to have a back up set up (like a hospital or sick tank, for any emergencies) **

Pebbles isn't skinny because Bam Bam eats all the food. She has just always been small. She sometimes steals the food from him even!!! I'm just not sure how long after hibernation he will try to mate with her and if her little body will be able to handle it.....LOL these guys are more stressful than kids!

Well, you can always see if he's interested in her in a sexy kind of way, hehehhheeh, then make up your mind ! How the heck would you know about more stressful than kids, you goofy kid ! LOL

LOL I'm the religious school secretary....I deal with all of the college kids and all of the high school kids all the way down to Kindergarten....good thing I'm only there 2 days a week!
