The anole will rub it off on a branch or something on his own. You'll stress him out more trying to mess with his face and remove it. There's nothing harmful if it's just salt deposits. Mine get them all the time (which I think is due to the water softener I have installed in my house that uses salt to purge and clean the filters.)
On a side note, I have one green anole (m) that was always a light shade of brown, even though the temps/humidity were perfect, he ate great, had lots and lots of live plants and limbs to hide around....
It wasn't till I caught the little booger to clean out the tank and put him in a 32 oz deli cup that he turned the brightest green and stayed that way the entire time he was in the cup. No extra heat or light or anything. And promptly turned brown again when I released him back in to his habitat. Go figure.
