Sick painted?

K1LOS Dec 16, 2003 10:45 PM

Hey, i have had my painted for 2 years. In the last month he has been basking ALOT. Just curious if you think its something to be concerned about. Only thing that has changed is i gave him a higher wattage tight beam basking bulb as opposed to a normal house hold. I think the temp was 87 on the basking spot, 77 in water. Thanks

if a turtle is basking too much that is the least tghing id be worrying about. In my opinion if his eyes are healthy looking and his respitory functions are well the more he basks the better.

Evaluate its level of activity, alertness and appetite when in the water. If these have also declined, you may have problems.
