I'd like to vote that worse thing have, in fact exsisted. Heck, they already killed almost all the rattlers in my state and they didn't even eat them.
I guess the best thing to do would be to write lawmakers in the states that hold the roundups. It will be tough to stop the roundups but still allow collection for the pet trade.
The whole concept IS pretty sucky, though, especially in Florida.

The problem is that in many of the localities these occur in, they are tourist attractions that collect a big share of the town's annual revenue. Politicians listen first to who votes for them and are not inclined to cut the income of those voters by supporting a ban.

( did I say that right ? ). Talking of several round-ups in the big OK....this IS the one if not the only survival economic ventures of certain little bergs. I went to Mangum OK as a curious photographer several years in a row for the thier event and saw why this is or has kept the town alive with the closings of all major factories and businesses. Even though it is and has been a somewhat ghost town........no ., I do not participate in the round-up and while on the planned hunts never saw the use of fuel sprayed in holes or dens but did see many WDB that was no doubt coming from Texas and the regulars ( hunters, JCs ) that had well stocked snakes even before the actual event. I would surmise ,since I SAW what was collected on the planned hunts ,that there very well could of been the use of gasoline before, during ( outside of the regulated hunts )of other collected snakes from other places.
