my roomate has had a small eastern garter for over two months now. its feeding real well and has grown significantly. it hasn't shed at all since we've had him though. are they infrequent shedders like hognose or is this odd. my kings have shed twice in the time we've had the garters and they haven't gown nearly as much as the garter.

How often do garters shed?

It really depends on the snake's age. Older snakes won't shed as much as younger ones. My garter sheds once every 2-3 months. Hope this helps.

They are fairly young snakes. No longer than 12 inches. They are easterns, so not close to their adult size.
