how should i do this...the hottest i can get it is about 85F. should i put down a piece of ceramic tile? would black construction paper do the trick? does the temp go up in a clay pot-base hide? or will 85 degrees be alright... thanks. -Mike

85 is not bad, but it should be around 90, on the hot side of the cage. Did you try an under tank heater? That should do the trick. Try to get the hot side to 90-92 and the cool side to 75, that will provide a good thermalgradient.
