How old should your beardie be when you start giving him baths? My little guy is 10weeks (8.5" and i've only been misting him. He's not thrilled with being held right now either. Very short sessions before he tries to take off. He LOVES to be hand fed his crickets and really enjoys when i reach into the tank and pet him. I just don't want to freak him out with the whole bath thing.

I started bathing my babies at 1 week old. just start with enough water to wet their bellies. Let them spalash around and have fun. as they get used to it you can give them a bath tub that allows them to swim or bask on an island or just wade ankle deep. You might want to take a tub and angle it so there is dry land on one side and deep water on the other. that way the dragon decides what to do.

do you think it will stress him out? seeing how he's not real comfortable being held right now. (don't get me wrong here, he loves to be petted and hand feed it just seems that hes either jumpy or curious or both and wants to run once he's out)

be patient and go slowly and he should be fine. If you are concerned, place him in a tub he cannot jump out of with no water and observe his reaction. Once he settles down you can slowly add some warm water. Make sure the tub is angled so there is a dry area he can retreat to.

that sound like a good idea,,, i've got a plastic tub that should be the right size,,, sounds like a weekend adventure to me tho,,, my son and i can lock ourselves in the bathroom and place the plastic tub in the bathtub and see how it goes,,, thanks for the info,
