Phelsuma Laticauda and Mantellas

ipost Dec 17, 2003 12:05 PM

I am looking to set up a terrarium with 1.1 phelsuma laticauda (Gold Dust day geckos) and a few mantella frogs in a 26 gallon bowfront tank. Any recommendations on which mantella species would work best in a day gecko enclosure? Thanks.

I would be worried about keeping the day geckos warm enough and the mantellas cool enough. Also mantellas are so tiny, I would put it past the geckos to chase them. Plus the geckos poop alot, and the mantellas are very sensitive. Personally I wouldn't do it. I have both day geckos and mantellas but in seperate tanks.
