geckocam

hi. my live geckocam is back online again, including a new temperature graph. the page isn't too flashy right now, and the picture of what's what in the terrarium is out of date. my terrarium has "VersaTile" for substrate now, and a little bridge made of broken tile. i'm planning on getting a 20L soon, 'cause geckosan can reach the top of his terrarium when i have the lid off and i don't want him to escape.

Jason,

That looks great! I'll put a link to your page as soon as I can update HerpCam. I'll also have my GeckoCam back online soon. I'll be putting it on my SHCT and HT leos I got from The Urban Gecko and Albey Scholl.

I really like your temperature graph. I don't have a linux box, so do you have any experience with the Windows version? Do you have links to the information on running x10 to control temps?

Thanks a bunch.

i haven't used the windows version, but i don't think you can log temperatures with it. there may be some other software made by Dallas Semiconductors that allows you to do that, but i don't think it's free.

as for the X10 stuff, i haven't read much about it, but what i was going to do was get a firecracker module (the part that hooks up to the computer) a reciever and a lamp dimmer. then i would have a small program that would read the temp from the probes, and if it was above or below a certain value, i would have it adjust the lamp dimmer up or down using X10 software for linux that you can download. you might want to read the comp.home.automation newsgroup and see if there's more info there.

thanks for the link, i'll add a link to your site too!
