picky eater

hay everyone, i have recently hit a wall with my uro, she is sch a picky eater that it drives me crazy!! she loves dandelions, but i can't feed that every day, she does eat some greens that i give her but most of the time she just doesn't seem interested in them, she seems healthy and active, but she isn't fattening up like i would like her to. any sugestions?

I had the same problem with my mali a while ago. He wouldn't touch anything except kale. Somebody suggested that I mix in very tiny bits of kale in with his regular food. It didn't take too long before he started eating other things again. Hope this helps

Have you tried mixing the food, my uro usually just picks it out but once he realizes it's all gone he starts chowing down.

When I get a little one or a fuss pot I use a food processor to chop up the salad. I start with a larger proportion of the greens the fussy ones like and gradually get the mix where I want it. It is pretty difficult to just pick out the ones they want when it is chopped so fine. If you don't have a lot to make, the food processor is really easy and quick. The one I have is just a little one I bought for about $15. Good Luck!

Well, Pam.. sure beats my idea. I think I might start doing that because all my reptiles get just about the same thing. My beardies get the same veggies as well as my iggy and box turtle. So I do have to make quite a bit and will save the time just chopping away.
