My sixteen inch veiled chameleon's casque almost appears to be melting it is discolored and doesn't follow the would be norma growth of the casque. I would like any suggestions please. I thought it might be rubbing itselg against the top of the reptarium or getting burned by the heat light. Please help!!!

A pic would help a lot. Also we need more info. How long since this started? What are the basking area and lamp temps, distance from them to the basking perch, what do you gutload and feed and how often do you dust, and with what? What kind of UV light do you use? How long have you had this cham? If it was metabolic bone disease you would probably be seeing deformations in his legs and fractures in ribs too. If it is a burn or infection the skin will look damaged and be painful to touch. I think you should take him to a qualified herp vet to be sure. It's very hard to help you without more info.
