Coconut hide cleaning, need some help

Noodle_Boy Dec 17, 2003 06:19 PM

Hello, I plan on doing an extensive cleaning of my leo enclosure tomorrow. I plan to soak all of his furniture in a diluted bleach sollution. However, I'm looking at his coconut hide, and it doesn't seem to me as if it would withstand bleach very well. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there with the coconut shell hide thing, so if anyone else out there has cleaning experience with one, I'd love to know what you use to clean it. Thanks

Can't really help you, but I just wanted to say that those things seem like a rip off to me. Like $5 for the half shell-hide. Where as you can go buy a larger coconut at the store for like $2.19. And get two of them.

I don't use those but I know a lot of people boil driftwood to sterilize...that's probably what I'd do.

I don't use coconut hides either, but when I clean any wood and rocks, I will scrub them first with a brush in hot water and dish soap, rinse, then boil everything for about 20-30 mins.
