I posted about a week or two ago about a failure-to-thrive dragon I got from someone in California. Well, I have great news to report! S/he is making remarkable progress!!! I haved named it Sprint because it can run faster than anything I have seen before! So now, I have 2 beardies: Trip and Sprint, both named because of their walking traits!! Sprint's belly looks like it is about to bust, and his poops are MUCH bigger and more normal looking. When I first got him, I thought his poops looked normal, just tiny. I didn't realize at the time how dry they were. Now, he is well hydrated and looking good. I just wish I had a digital camera to post pics! I am in love with the little guy already and very proud of myself for being able to get him back on track. That was the reason for my getting into rescue. It can be devastating when you lose someone, but the success stories make everything worthwhile.
Now I just need to do the same thing for my newest addition -- a horribly emaciated leopard gecko. It is so weak that it can hardly open its eyes. I have been syringe feeding it, but I really don't know if it will make it. It was kept in a small rectangular rubbermaid with 3 other leos standing in their own urine and feces for who knows how long. People never cease to disgust me.
