I posted in the Blood Python forum and someone had said it was called a "vertebrae lift"

I purchased a new blood from the FIRE show in Orlando. I got him home and have noticed that when he moves, he arches his back up about 3" from the ground. Is something wrong with him?

I'll like to bring him to a herp vet, but I have still yet to find a competent one in Birmingham, Al.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
