Venomous license goiung to 100$

buddygrout Jun 03, 2003 02:01 PM

I just called to check on my renewal and was told it was delayed because the venomous permits are now going to be 100$.
That may not be a lot for someone that keeps and raises a lot of snakes, but I just have been keeping the permit so I can transport them when I get them on snake calls. I guess I'll have to kill any venomous snakes since it will be illegal to transport them. We need to rally against this and keep it lower. Maybe 25$ like the non-venomous one. I just wondered if anyone else has heard about this yet. Buddy.

Killing the animal is not the answer!!!! legal or illegal when transporting. If you cant or dont want to pay a 100 dollars then you take the chance of getting caught or you just dont do it at all...I am not rich and i do not sell snakes for a living or keep alot, but 100 dollars is not alot considering what you are dealing with. How do you pay your doctors bills when or if you get bit...A chance you have to take with venomous.Maybe the people who have been bit or do get bit should not be allowed to keep venomous,or maybe they should make them pay 1000 a year,IMO....

From what I was told at the tuesday meeting this is not just for the venomous permit. The price for the non-venomous has also gone to $100.Looks like the state just decided it was a chance to grab alot more money from its citizens while offering no extra benefit to us.Maybe they could spend it to hire some officers that know their butts from a hole in the ground.I know I have had to educate too many of them myself when I have dealt with them in the past.

Just do without either permit. Then you have the right to keep your animals without the Officials being involved. Also, without the permit, they don't have the right to enter your premise without a search warrant. Hmmmm........, who'dve thunk!
