Is it possible to get good quality lizard pics. from a $250 camera? Pictures would be taken inside for website images. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good camera? i.e. amount of megapixels?

Sure you can get a good camera for $250. Mine was in that range a little cheaper I think. For that price you could get a 2.0 - 3.1 megapixel. I use my camera for the same thing you plan to. Don't really print to paper all that much so the 2.0 was fine. I got the Canon Power Shot A40. Great, easy Camera. Awesome for taking detailed close ups too.
As of last weekend, Sears department stores had the Sony Mavica CD 250 that we think is one of the best on sale for $250, normal it is like over $500. We had one of the older models and loved it.... this was a awesome buy and realy excellent quality pictures using a the small disk and has a nice deplay screen.
They may not be the same all over, but worth checking out
I got my Nikon Coolpix 2500 for about $215 at amazon.com, but the memory card was about $30-40
Go to ebay.com, you can find nice cameras there for 250 and under. I use a Sony Cyber-Shot with 3.3 megapixles.
Thanks for all of the help everyone! The pics. were beautiful. Ebay seems to have some great deals! Thx.
i would recomend www.dpreview.com to look up reviews in cams.
