I leave my silkies in the petri dish they came in for a few days until they eat most of the chow in the dish. Then I move them into the cardboard box they came in on. I cover the holes on the sides (mesh) with the Glad Peel n Stick stuff to keep most of the moisture in when i feed them and there they stay. I actually had bought some GLADWARE lasagna pans that I kept them in but the chow kept going bad because of the moisture buildup so the box works best because there is enough ventilation from the closed top that the chow actually dries up in 2 days or so and then the mold doesnt grow.
This is my first try at silkies so Im sure that Joe or John can give you a better idea on what they do.
