I have read that leaving crickets in the actual habitat (when its not feeding time) for the gecko's to catch at their leisure is a bad idea. Espescially if they are in over night because they bug the gecko's whil they sleep. Apparently the crickets can actually nibble at the leo and even injure it?

Whats the deal with all this, is it true, or is it just some paranoid people?

as far as the part with crickets being in the cage overnight and disturbing the geckos is true. As far as injuring the geckos... i have yet to see that

well the specific injury i read about was that the gecko had an eyelid removed by crickets. I dunno what the chances of something like that actually happening are. Anyways, it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore, the crickets don't live very long once their in the tank anyways!

theres a leo at the petstore i buy crickets from that has a tail chewed away by crickets... not a lot but the end is gone. didnt seem to bother the gecko but shes kept pretty clean and it didnt get infected... it would probably be more of a problem anywhere else on the gecko (head, body..

if you do want to leave the crickets in put a small piece of potato in there for them to munch on. that should keep them away from your gecko.

but damage from crickets can happen, so its up to you. dave

I thought kung pow was ok, but it was really stupid. I thought the only funny parts were when they did those sounds all the time, esp. the girl.
