I lightened the photo up a little but still couldn't tell for sure. It does look somewhat like an okeetee but for now I would just consider it a very nice normal. Very nice

Looks like a normal to me. (Looks exactly like my normal hatchling).

I may be stirring a pot answering your question, but what the heck. IMO, an Okeetee corn is, regardless of color/pattern, a locality based animal from the Okeetee Hunt Club area of Jasper Co., South Carolina and surrounding areas where the classic colored corns derived from. However, not all Okeetee corns from the area are brilliantly colored or patterned. An "Okeetee Phase" animal may or may not have blood from that area, but exhibits the best of the best in terms of coloration (bright orange ground color with bright red saddles)and has thick black borders around the blotches. They were line bred to look like the best of the best from the Okeetee area. Some breeders simply call these "Okeetee Phase" animals "Classic corns". I would say its a normal, or a "Classic" corn if it grows up with exceptional pattern or color, but unknown lineage.

Sorry for the long answer.

i read pretty much exactly what u said about oketees in this book i recently picked up...what i was wondering though cuz i couldnt seem to find it...what is the difference between the 2? because mine looks similar to the pic posted..but more orange on the back and a deeper red and less white...probably just a regular corn tho..im pretty sure it is cuz i would hope the store would have it labelled as an oketee corn they would probably charge more too lol..so do u know the difference between the two?

Looks normal to me IMO. As DemonFrog stated, its an "Okeetee Phase". If thats the case, it either has been line bred or has Okeetee area blood in it and should mature into a richly patterned/thick black bordered normal corn. After all, Okeetee and "Okeetee Phase" corns are all normal corns. The either have the locality and looks popularized in many books (sometimes just the locality without the great looks), or just great looks that exemplify those awesome corns collected from that locality.

Hope this helps!!
