easy care frogs

janome Dec 18, 2003 06:02 PM

Is there any easy to care for frogs/toads that stay small and don't require any heating or lighting or a big enclosure? I have snakes and was just wondering about frogs. Some are so cute! I'm hoping there are some that you can keep in those kritter keepers you see at Walmart, etc. Thanks.

sorry, but nope. all frogs hop extremely well and to put them in a small kritter keepeer would be like me keeping you in your bedroom all day. it sucks. not to mention me turning off the heat so its only room temp, while your sitting in chilly water. so id say to skip out on the frogs, the only things that can really live in those kritter keepers are some inverts(tarantulas, hermit crabs) and theyre also good for transporting(to the vet, from the store to home, etc) sorry!

I've got my baby toad in a mediumish critter keeper. He doesn't come out much though, he has a burrow under his water dish. As an adult he'll need something bigger.
