the other day i met someone who had a large variety of leos---all were excellent morphs and all were "stubs"--tails in process of rejuvenating.all were super healthy ,large and friendly--question for forum is -do they grow back 100% and is it noticeable when complete--brian

i've never seen a leo's tail when it grows back, however i heard that once they drop their tail.. that they never grow back 100% normal looking.

when the tail grows back it usually is quite ugly looking but that doesnt effect much else beside the look.

Regenerated tails never look like the original. They grow back in different shapes/thicknesses. If you want to see pictures, buy a copy of the Leopard Gecko Manual.

They do grow back but it is noticable. You can see in this pic the regrown part has a differnt texture and shape. Her's turned out pretty nice though.

I don't think they're ugly. One of my girls had a regen when I bought her. I think it's kinda cute. Remember, though, they can only regenerate the tail once, so you'll really need to be careful not to stress him/her because if he/she loses it again, it won't have the ability to grow another one.
