How Old?

LdyPayne Dec 18, 2003 07:19 PM

Hello all:

Just a quick question, my crested gecko I bought a couple weeks ago at the local petstore (they only had it for about 4 or 5 days before I bought it) is 5" long. Approximately what age would it be? I know there are different growth ratios depending on what they are fed and how well cared for...but I do know it wasnt' at the petstore long before I bought it, less than a week anyway and it looked in good shape/health (alert, plump, eating well etc.) Just want to get a general ideal how old he/she is. Thanks

I would say it's at least 5 months if that's the total length including the tail.

yes that is including the tail. 5 months stil a bit too early to properly sex it? So far it looks like a female but I seem to remember reading somewhere that males can be late bloomers
