Is it normal for BRB'S to stay copulating for only 30-to an hour? Or less than that?

It seems that it can vary for no apparent reason. I have seen them when I know they were actually copulating (as opposed to just 'tail searching') for only 15 minutes. But then the very same pair might be hooked up all night the following day.
