Can you smell that?

boaphile Jun 03, 2003 03:01 PM

Don't you love the smell of baby Boas in the morning? I can't think of a SAHWEEETer smell.

It looks like we tripled or quadrupled the Pastel Albino population this morning. There were only three. Now there are a few more. This is the third time in four years this female has produced for us. This time bred like last year to her son bred her and… oooo the orange is blinding. This is a horrible picture of all of them in the goo. I’ll get more pictures after they shed and post them in a couple weeks. We have been fortunate to produce a number of Pastels het for Albino as well. This will be the first year any number of these Pastel Dream het for original strain Albinos will be available. One thing to keep in mind. This is really just the tip of the iceberg. With further refinement, we will make better and better more orange and eventually RED Albinos. They are the eventual result.

Here is the single Pastel Albino we produced last year:

Here are his Mom and Dad engaged in a little activity that we all love to see:

It's wild how the Orange within the ground color is becoming more and more intense as time goes on and they get larger.

Oh yea, I am having fun!

Congrats Jeff, Those albinos look tasty. I LOVE albino boas. Great work on refining them. You're right. We are just tipping the iceberg. It would be fun to go into the future 10 years and see the boas that will be produced from that albino trait. SHOULD BE AWESOME. Good work, Jeremy Stone

Remember that little sales jingle, “Things go better with Coke”? I think I am going to start saying, “Things go better with Pastels”. I think this is just more proof that Pastels make everything better. We are now starting to see more Pastel x Hypo breedings. Result? Fantastic blow the doors off everything else Hypos. Pastel “Ivory” Anerythristics. Oh, and the Pearlescent Boas. We are seeing the further refinement of what this characteristic can do for Boa breeding. Both the color brought by Pastels and just the reduction of the black seems to be having quite an impact on anything it touches. The numbers are working in the positive direction every time too. It makes me tingly all over and nervious about what is coming next! You are correct Jeremy. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I am expecting a number of other litters of awesome Pastel combinations and can’t wait to see what pops up next.
