denmaiden Dec 19, 2003 07:54 AM

Okay, I got my Hova-bator and I have it togehter. Now when should I turn it on and do I need to keep the water in there now?

Really need help. The instructions are for chicken eggs and such. Feathered animals not reptile.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
D

I would set it up at least 3-4 days ahead of time. Make sure it is in a room that is cooler than the actual incubator temperature. Set it between 83 - 84 degrees. Monitor it for a couple days to make sure it stays constant. I would not use the thermometer they send with it... I would go buy a digital from walmart. I usually use four of the square glad ware containers for the egg tubs and place a small round cup of water in the middle of the incubator. The glad ware tubs I drill two small holes in the lid at opposite corners and fill them about 1/2 way with your incubation substrate.

If you need any other help or info, drop me a line via email.
