another curiosity question

Do corns grow all their lives? Or is there an age where they sort of level off, and can be considered "adult sized" or full grown?

My snow girl, the one who gave me all them babies last year, is 49" right now, and when I got her in July or August of 2002(bad bad memory for dates), she was slim and only about 20". So people guessed her as a yearling or younger. Obviously she's grown tremendously in the past year and a half, or at least by my standards, but I'm wondering if at only 2-1/2 to 3 years old, she could still grow another foot?

Also, if she was only a year or less when I got her, that means I bred her last year at only a year and a half old!? But she was BIG! And had lots of healthy babies, so I guess it wasn't too early for her, either that or she was a runt and was actually older than a year when I got her?

I love my snow, hate to say it but she's my favorite snake, (I learned as a daycare teacher your not supposed to have favorites)But I sometimes wish I had gotten her from a breeder rather than a pet shop, or that I could at least find her breeder and see how old she really is and what lineage she hides.

They do continue to grow, they just slow down as they get older.
Beautiful snake, btw.

Its not unusual for corns to breed at 18 months old. Especially when well fed and kept at optimum temps. If your snake was fed a maintenance diet prior to you purchasing her (enough to keep healthy, but not pushed hard), then she may have been older, just not as big as a better fed animal. With corns, breeding appears to be more a matter of size (they must have the mass), and not age. I have a normal female that I did not breed until she was 2-1/2 years old. It just took her that long for her to get big enough to breed. Even with weekly feedings and upping the size of food items whenever possible.

Take care! Nice snow!!

I have a feeling the way she eats she's got at least a foot to go I think it was feeding her rats that really caused her growth spurt. She eats them like they're candy....can't seem to get enough.

And thanks for the compliments, I think she's pretty amazing myself
