Pattenless Het Albino laid eggs during shipping....more

gwright86 Jun 03, 2003 03:19 PM

This might not be a plea for help but I feel like telling the story. I receive a bunch of geckos today, inculding including 2 patternless het rainwater and one rainwater het pattenless, all bred by a patternless albino. Well, I opened the cup, and there were two eggs. One egg had a nice firm shell, while the others' was soft. They both were bright white, though. So I put some moist perlite in their with them, since I couldn't get them off the plastic, put the lid on, stuck them in the hovabator, and I'm hoping for the best. Anybody ever had an "accident" like this before? Do you think there's a godd chance they'll hatch? Thanks for any comment.

I have never had a female lay while in the shipping process, however i did have a gravid female lay a day or so after recieving her. it seems like the stress of shipping her enduced her to lay and a week or so later both eggs went bad. most likely it was the stress which caused her to lay but do what you are doing and hope for the best

your eggs might die but if i were you i would soak them in warm water to get them to unstick from the bottom of deli cup then make sure they are dry and put them in perlite. i have had females lay 1 day after shipping and the eggs hatched out fine (in fact they hatched yesterday). so don't be discouraged (the eggs were stuck together at one end too.
