i just walked into my herp room to check on my 1.1 pair of madagascar ground geckoes.she was fine but he was dead!seriously,he was on his back with his feet in the air!looked just like a cartoon.i sadly put the lid back on & went to get a baggie for burial.when i returned he was right side up & staring @ me.i picked him up-he's fine!i've never heard of a gecko feigning death before, but it sure worked!

I've never seen it, but I read about this behavior. Offhand I dont remember the species that do it but I remember that it was mainly small desert dwelling geckos so I think the panther would be one of them.

Ive never heard of gecko doing this but i have heard that someone once hatched out some baby red eyed crocodile skinks adn one faked death and it was so convincing hte people threw it in the trash and when they read about it they went to the trash can and found it alive and well.just thought Id add this
